Fabrice Klein is a Senior Vice President at SMH Capital in the Investment Banking Group, specializing in transactions for financial sponsors and their portfolio companies.
Mr. Klein has more than thirteen years of experience in corporate finance, capital raising, acquisitions, senior management, and strategic planning in the internet, telecom and middle market sectors.
Before joining SMH Capital in 2005, Mr. Klein was the acting Chief Financial Officer of Thumbplay, a venture-backed start-up in the wireless entertainment sector. Prior to that, as Vice President of Finance and Corporate Development at Web.com, a Nasdaq-listed web services provider, Mr. Klein contributed to nine M&A transactions totaling $250 million. Mr. Klein also participated in the company's IPO responsible for strategic planning and investor relations and was the CFO on one of the company's lines of business.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Klein served as Vice President in Chase H&Q's Global Telecom and Media Investment Banking Group, now JPMorgan TMT Group, where he contributed to deal origination and execution for private equity placements, mergers and acquisitions, high-yield bond offerings, and syndicated lending. Mr. Klein also has years of strategic planning and consulting experience from his responsibilities at Chase.com's Electronic Commerce Group and at Coopers & Lybrand Consulting's Telecom and Media Group, now part of IBM Business Consulting Services.
Mr. Klein holds a Master of Business Administration from the Yale School of Management and he graduated with honors from the Institut Superieur de Gestion in Paris, France.
Mr. Klein also served in the French Army as a Lieutenant following his training at l' Ecole Speciale Militaire de Saint-Cyr Coetquidan.

Mr. Paul A. Nowak is a Senior Vice President at SMH Capital in the Investment Banking Group, specializing in mergers and acquisitions and capital raising for public and private middle-market clients.
Before joining SMH Capital in 2004, Mr. Nowak was with Crest Advisors LLC, a boutique investment bank focusing on technology and communications companies which was acquired by Sanders Morris Harris in 2004.
Prior to that, Mr. Nowak was a member of Smith Barney's Mergers & Acquisitions and Advisory Groups. During his career, he has worked on a variety of mergers, acquisitions and corporate finance transactions in multiple industries, including environmental, communications, healthcare, retail, homeland security, industrial, energy and security services.
Mr. Nowak holds a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from the University of Virginia.

Mr. Russell J. Steward is a Senior Vice President, Restructuring at SMH Capital in the Investment Banking Group, specializing in building the firm's financial restructuring practice which provides integrated financial and transactional services to under-performing and distressed companies. In addition to building the restructuring practice, Mr. Steward is also a senior member of the Healthcare Group, covering various healthcare segments including devices, services and technology.
Mr. Steward has more than twelve years of experience in investment and merchant banking, assisting companies in various areas including public and private debt and equity offerings, mergers and acquisitions, leveraged financings and corporate finance advisory.
Before joining SMH Capital in 2006, Mr. Steward was a Principal at the merchant banking firm of G.C. Andersen Partners, LLC, focusing on equity private placements and financial advisory services. In addition, Mr. Steward gained operations experience as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer the broker-dealer subsidiary, G.C. Andersen Partners Capital, LLC. Earlier in his career, Mr. Steward held positions at BT Alex Brown, in the Financial Sponsors Group, facilitating senior and subordinated debt financing for buyout sponsors, and at PaineWebber, in the High Yield Capital Markets Group, primarily on the origination side of the business.
Mr. Steward holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Columbia University, a Masters of Business Administration from the Anderson School at UCLA and a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Century University in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Mr. William Tillinghast is a senior member of the firm's Private Capital Markets effort. He has more than fourteen years of experience distributing and analyzing leveraged transactions and is a veteran of the domestic and international distressed and leveraged debt and equity markets.
Mr. Tillinghast began his financial career at Oppenheimer in the distressed group where he focused on distressed corporate and sovereign situations. He was a Managing Director at Schultze Asset Management, a hedge fund (investing in bankrupt and distressed companies) where he analyzed companies for potential investment opportunities and raised investment capital. In addition, he has worked at the DebtTraders and Advest distributing leveraged product.
Mr. Tillinghast received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Lehigh University and a Masters of Business Administration from Columbia Business School.
